PHE - Promoting Higher Education
Higher education among students of marginalized communities in our working areas is bare minimum. Pursuing higher levels of education is possible only when students complete at least secondary or higher secondary grade education. Many bright students in our working areas are not able to continue their study after free primary education due to economic constraints. In order to encourage students to move towards brighter future the organization has initiated promoting Higher Education Programme (PHE). The objective of this Programme is to provide coaching classes, career guidance, and financial assistance to the students who have attempted a secondary or a higher secondary grade and to encourage them to pursue higher levels of education.
Educational Scholarship
The Father Erviti Educational Scholarship is instituted for supporting the poor children of slums, who have been performing meritoriously in exams and wish to further their education. The organization provides financial Assistance for Continuing Education for the students who excel or wish to excel in studies but have no economic resources. The programme not only provides them with material support for their education but efforts are made also to interact at a personal level with them. We listen to them, try to understand their difficulties and then support them to move forward. The main purpose of this scholarship is
- To attract more children towards the educational Programmes through which they could be led to the formal educational system;
- To encourage school-going children from the slums to continue their formal education and pursue higher education;
- To identify the brighter students from deprived communities who otherwise would be deprived of a bright future due to lack of resources and provide them financial assistance for educational purposes.
Around 100 students are given scholarship every year.
